ReplyDeleteVanesa, why did you remove your post? I'm curious...
ReplyDeleteMike, the Nadal's video doesn't work, but I neednt it, without any doubt, the best english goes to Gasol. FCB is always on the top.

Hi!I´m María José and here you are my comment:
ReplyDeleteThere´s no doubt that Gasol speaks English better than Alonso and Nadal.
From my point of view, Gasol has an American accent, and obviously, speaks very fluently using the correct word stress and rhythm. He has really surprised me! although I knew he has been living in U.S.A for many years.
To be honest, Alonso´s pronunciation isn´t very good. In some words, such as “race” and “unrealistic” one can appreciate how the letter “r” sounds very Spanish, he makes the same mistake with the “t”, for example when he says “true” or “winter” just to mention only a few.
As far as I´m concerned Nadal uses very simple sentences and a poor vocabulary, maybe due to his lack of experience at that time.
In conclusion, Pau Gasol has got the best English.
Best regards!
I have not any doubt, and the winner is.... Pau Gasol. The reason? the reason is that I can understand perfectly to Nadal and Alonso, but it is not so easy with Gasol, because his pronunciation is better and more English.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of exercises are very interesting. I Like it.
Hi guys. I totally agree with you, very well explained Sandrina, I call that accuracy. Gasol's English's superb whereas Nadal's and Alonso's are a bit more like they can communicate with an average level of attainment, yeah. The question now is, how would you like your English to be by the end of this year and what are you going to do to get that????
ReplyDeletePaco, Javier Gomez's English is also different class, isn't it, mate?
ReplyDeleteI removed my comment cause I read NI1 after wrote it.
ReplyDeleteI said that Gasol´s pronunciation quite accurate. Alonso and Rafa are both fluent in English but their pronunciations remind me to Spanish.
That I find Gasol´s... I eat words
ReplyDeleteIt´s clear, Gasol speaks better but I understand worse than Nadal or Alonso because you have american accent.
ReplyDeleteI guess I better understand Nadal and Alonso for your spanish accent.
I think the best of three is Gassol. He pronounces very well, with an american accent. Between the others, for my opinion the English of Fernando Alonso is better than Rafa Nadal. Fernando speaks quickly and with many vocabulary. He has lived abroad for many years. Rafa Nadal speaks with few words , his language is with spanish constructions. The explanation of this: Gassol has lived in USA for many years ago; Alonso lives abroad of Spain for almost ten years or more; and Nadal although he frecuently travels, he lives in Spain.
ReplyDeleteI think who has got the best English is Pau Gasol. All of them have a good English and easy to understand. But in my opinion, Pau Gasol has a very good pronunciation, perhaps because he has been living in USA for his job so many years, while Alonso and Nadal speak with a spanish accent. They travel around the world to, but they don't reside in a English-speaking country.
ReplyDeleteI think Gasol speaks English better than the others. He speaks as an average american citizen.Nevertheless, Alonso explains very well the card game and I believe that It´s necessary to speak English very well to do it and, above all, that someone can understand him.Nadal understand English very well but his explanations and answers are shorter and more poor.I Think it can be because he lives in Spain, your trainer is Spanish and they speak in your language which is not English.Alonso is living abroad since ten years ago and the people who speak with him are,in general, not Spaniards and, normally, they speak in English with the others.
ReplyDeleteI think that Pau Gasol is the player who speaks english better. Probably, his english is so good because he lives in USA, and he speaks english all day. In my opinion, Fernando Alonso doesn´t speak good English and Nadal neither.
