Remember we were discussing about the new wonders of the world and how La Alhambra didn't make it through after the final votation? Well, here's the new 7 wonders of the world, as chosen by on-line voters all over the globe.
new 7 wonders of the world
Now, and after having read the above article, if it was up to you, what would the new 7 wonders of the world be???? Make your own list and let us all know!!!!
After watching the video I think that any of them are a good idea to organize a travel.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a good idea, but I suppose it is not posible.
I have my own list of wonderful places:
1. Blackforest in Germany
2. Fiords in Norway
3. Niagara fallwater in Canada
4. Alpes and Tirol in Austria
5. whole Spain
and
6. Anywhere if you are in good company
I´m more in favour of giving more value to our own heritage, since it is part of our past. In Murcia we have a wide range of monuments such as Episcopal Palace, Moneo Building, Belluga Square, Salcillo Muesum, not to mention the cathedral....However, and without hesitation, my vote would go to the Fortress of the Sun! As most of you know I´m in love whit it and Especially for those of you who haven´t seen it yet, I encourage you to go and visit it as it is very handy and as I will not make any kind of presentation in the class.
ReplyDeleteThanks both for your comments. Very wild places you selected, Marian, and yeah, I agree, when in good company, the local pub could be the most wonderful spot ever. Marina, there's a kind of public outcry for your presentaion about the fortress of the sun....it's in the air....
ReplyDeleteHi!!!
ReplyDeleteI was living in Granada when the vote took place. I remember perfectly that night, the stage, the music and beers ...
From my point of view, La Alhambra is more than a physical place, is an exciting journey into the past (not so far)
I don´t know what places were talked in class last monday, after reading the article and watching the video I´m not able to choose only seven wonders, for me every place that I visit has one reason to be one of the wonders of the world.
ReplyDeleteFor example a little church lost in the middle of one island of Greece.
And about what Marian said, I agree with her too too, everywhere could be the best with the right people.
Hi! Here you´re my " Wonders" list:
ReplyDelete-El Torcal de Antequera (Málaga): This enchanting place was flooded by the sea of Tetis for millions of years, which meant that it was subject to constant erosion creating the most fantastic and unusual shapes and forms in rocks. I encourage you to search some photos on the net, I bet It´ll impress you greatly.
Apart from El Torcal there´re other beautiful places included in my list:
-Cordoba´s Mosque
-The Alhambra, of course!
-Furnas volcano on the island of Sao Miguel (Azores), and their boilers of caves boasting geysers.
-Lake of the Seven Cities(Azores Islands), which is a twin-lake situated in a massive crater. It consists of two ecologically-different small-lakes connected by a narrow passage located inside a dormant volcano. The funny thing is that each side of the lake reflects the sunlight in different colors, for that reason they´re called the Green Lake and the Blue Lake.
Just to mention only a few of the wonderful places I´ve seen. There should be thousands of "wonders" in the world!
I agree with all of you, because in my opinion any places whereever you go could be the best place to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDid it sound too pretentious if I would suggest you another one?? Let consider my little and lovely village: Chirivel, jejeje
