In order to carry on with today's issue of raising your children gender-freely, social conventions and stereotypes regarding your sex and whether boys should be allowed to play with dolls and girls with machines guns (very, very interesting class today I've got to admit), here's a hilarious video courtesy of my main pal in Totana, Mr. Paco Guerao. I decided to upload 2 different versions, one with subtitles in Spanish, in case you feel like finding out every single word they say, and one without them.
I'd really like you to post your comments about it. Don't worry, I'll be the first to do it. I think the video depicts the same old story, and let me tell you I've never seen anyone in my entire life in such a deep pain and suffering to such an extreme. I'm referring here to the boy, in case you were wondering who I was talking about.....
Enjoy it!!!!
marry me!!! (subtitles)
I reckon that this could be an old story, maybe the mom is remembering the same situation when she wanted to marry with her husband and for this reason she records it.
ReplyDeleteNowadays I try to think that everything is changing, what I mean is that it doesn´t matter the toys you use or the clothes you wear, your hair or your name. You can raise your baby with neutral things and he or she can have a different appearance but they are going to behave how they feel inside, such a woman or a man, of course, with all the features added to each sex.
I couldn't agree more with your words, Vanesa.
DeleteI hope the thoughts that Vanessa have were truth in the future because when I see my pupils with the same ideas their parents had long time ago. I can't believe it. What about the theory of evolution?
ReplyDeletePeople should have more open mind
Thank you Vanessa
I'm happy you like the video. About the issue of the day, I want to say that we must encourage children to choose what they want to have for playing or how they want to behaviour. Taking decission will help then in their future real life.
ReplyDeleteThis video, apart from being great fun, confirms the theory of a dear friend of mine(female),She reckons that women always choose, but I'm not so sure...are you?
DeleteWho´s the weaker sex?? I think this video could help us to make up our mind. However I think we are always unfair when we make generalizations. Of course the sex plays un important role but the individual, the society,education...there are too many factors. I´d really like to be completely agree whith Vanesa but I´m on the same wavelength of Maria del Mar.I´m afraid that we have a very long road ahead.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure who´s the weaker sex here ,but the boy has a good lungs of course.
ReplyDeleteNowadays is not easy to live a "normal life" without an aesthetic and behaviour rules to follow. It is said that the most important thing is about what you really feel inside.
However the social deal is not equal to everybody.
I would dare to say the real problem starts when parents raising their kids showing no respect to minorities making differences between class,gender..etc.
I agree completely with the long road ahead that Pedro J. and Maria del Mar describe.
